1. Livestock is the major economic activity in the County followed by Fishing particularly in Lake Baringo.

Baringo County has moderate climate with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 10 °C to a maximum of 35.0 °C in different areas. Rainfall varies from 1,000 to 1,500mm in the highlands
to 600mm per annum in the lowlands.
Livestock is the major economic activity in the County followed by Fishing particularly in Lake Baringo. The main food crops grown are maize, pigeon peas, beans, Irish potatoes, sweet potatoes, sorghum, cassava and finger millet while the cash crops are coffee, cotton, macadamia and pyrethrum. Livestock products include honey, beef, mutton as well as hides and skins.
The lake is a major tourist attraction and is home to wildlife such as hippopotamus, crocodiles
and an abundant variety of fish and birds (more than 500 species) making the region a world ornithological paradise. The nearby Lake Bogoria National Reserve is home to one of the world’s largest populations of lesser flamingos. The shore of the lake is lined with spouting geysers, spurting steam jets and bubbling geothermal pools. The county has excellent hotel accommodation facilities
